100 Must Try Before You Die Tastes

This is our list, arranged in no particular order, of the city’s must-try foods — They're all either made in Toronto, unique to Toronto, or hard enough to find elsewhere that they make us feel lucky to live here.
#29 Algonquin Tea
Hand-picked on the fringes of Algonquin Park, this mild organic blend of native anise hyssop, red clover and raspberry leaves may or may not fight colds and flus, relax muscles and balance hormones. But either way, it’s a delicious drink—it tastes something like licorice mixed with fresh-cut grass—and an invigorating taste of southern Ontario’s wilderness.

We are located both in Whitney at the east gate of Algonquin Park on the Madawaska River, where we are practicing Permaculture Forest gardening and in Golden Lake on a 200 acre homestead where we are growing certified organic herbs.
